DDPA organises the community for clean-up activities and garbage collection alongside door knocking, looking for hidden children with disability. These activities leave a big mark by creating awareness about children with disabilities in the area. The impact of the clean-up and the positive environmental outcome greatly contribute to improving community attitude towards children living with disability. The community is able to appreciate and valuing the presence of a child with disability among them through receiving free-for-all medical camp, clean-up of dirty trenches around their homes and removal of garbage that keep pilling around. The three activities are used for community awareness on disability and as a great entry point for DPA to work with more children with disability in Korogocho slum.
