Jemima is 16 months old baby. She has multiple health challenges including cataract, which is a condition affecting the eye that causes clouding of the lens. A gradual progression of vision problem, eventually, if not treated, may result in vision loss. Her calcium content in her body is low and has very weak body organs. She was scheduled for eye surgery to remove cataract from her left eye. DPA was able to contribute towards the cost of her eye surgery and the surgery was successful. Jemima is supposed to go for routine check – ups and medical review at Kenyatta National Hospital but due to finance constrains the mother is not able to take her or buy her medication. Jemimah’s mother is single and lives in a single room with 6 children in a Nairobi slum, Jemima being the last born of the family. She can hardly afford to provide basic needs for her six children such as a meal per day, clothing & cost of schooling for the rest of the children. There are many children like Jemimah who need your support. You will then receive progress report and photos of the child you get to support.
Your donation of AU$130 will help to meet the cost of eye surgery to remove cataract and save sight of a child.
